Frequently Asked Questions

When will someone be able to give me a free estimate?

At Diamond Pools & Spas, we pride ourselves on our customer service and delivery of quality products. The owner and builder, Trevor Curtis, personally completes all new construction site visits. As the builder, he is able to anticipate needs and provide transparent, individualized pricing to minimize/eliminate unexpected costs that may pop up along the way. For replastering projects, Trevor's brother-in-law, Kevin Bowen, completes site visits including measurements and detailed photographs of your project. Every quote is discussed by our administrative team where we collaborate to provide unique quotes for every customer.

Do you offer pool inspections for real estate purposes?

Yes, we are often able to accommodate short notice pool inspections as needed for real estate transactions. Please submit an inquiry and a member of our team will contact you with pricing and availability.

How long will it take for my project to be completed?

Our commitment to completing as much of a project with our in-house crew as possible allows us to generally complete even complex projects much faster compared to our competitors. A typical new construction build will be approximately 6-8 weeks of actual construction time. This is, of course, subject to weather and local inspections permitting.  A standard level replaster typically takes 1-2 weeks from start to finish, which includes removal of old plaster, new tile, and installation of new plaster.

What are my financing options for my project?

Finance your project with one of our trusted lenders, or feel free to use whatever financing works for you!

What do I do if I think my pool may have a leak?

First step is the shut off any automatic water fill and record the drop in water level over a 24 hour period/1 week period if slower. Second, contact a local leak detection company to pinpoint the exact location of the leak(s). After you have received a leak detection report, contact Diamond Pools & Spas or another pool professional to repair the leak(s) and affected area.

How much is my project going to cost?

At Diamond Pools and Spas, we pride ourselves on taking the time for formulate individualized quotes based on your exact needs and project. That being said, each quote is specific for each project, and it can vary greatly depending on features, accessibility, and timeline. Due to our business model of prioritizing in-house operations, we are usually able to match or beat most estimates provided by other licensed companies.

What happens after I receive an estimate?

If you would like to move forward with your project, we will draft up the contract and send it over for signatures via Adobe Sign. If you would prefer to sign a hard copy in person, we will arrange for that instead. After the contract is signed, we send an invoice for the $1000 deposit, send a New Construction Handbook that we created to guide you through the process, and links to start checking out specific material choices. Our in-house designer, Kevin, will schedule a time to come take all the measurements for plan drawings. He will talk with you in detail about how you would like the shelf/steps/bench layouts. He will complete the drawings and you have unlimited revisions to get the interior details exactly how you want them. We will submit the drawing for engineering and permitting, and then get ready to break ground on your project!

Is proper water chemistry important?

Maintaining ideal chemical balance is very important for prolonging the life of your plaster/pool. We have included an educational link below, but want to strongly encourage customers to consider hiring a weekly pool company to ensure proper balance is maintained.

Who do you recommend for weekly pool service?

We encourage customers to use local search engines to find quality professionals in the area.

What options do I have for heating my pool?

There are three types of heaters you can choose from. First, solar heating. Solar heating is the most energy efficient way to heat your pool, but we generally say it will allow you to swim a month sooner and a month longer compared to if you didn't use solar. Solar heating is the most inexpensive to both install and operate. With solar heating, a solar company will install panels on the roof of your home which contain very small tubes that water is pumped through. We can install ground mounted solar, but leave anything above ground level to solar professionals. The energy from the sun heats the water in these small tubes and then pumps it back into the pool. The second and third options are electric/gas heating systems. These use electricity or gas to heat the water. These are more costly to both install and operate, but they can raise the temperature of the water much more significantly than with solar alone. If you are interested in learning more about heating options, we encourage you to reach out to our team so we can provide additional and more detailed information.

Where can I check out material options?

You can find some material choices in our resources page as downloads. We can provide material catalogues for tile/coping and get samples delivered to your house for your convenience. If you would rather check out the full inventory in person, you are invited to visit the Aquabella and NPT Showrooms in Rancho Cordova or Livermore.
